The Unpopular Treasure on the Nile, Busowoko Falls

Busowoko falls is one of the last major waterfalls remaining on the upper Victoria Nile. The others have disappeared under its backed-up waters. Located downstream on River Nile, 19kms from Jinja City in Bukongo village just after Namavundu forest. Busowoko falls is one of the last major falls on the River Nile after several others including the once famous bujaagali falls which were submerged after the construction of the Hydro Electric Power Dam.

There’s something unique and fascinating about being around those foamy waters plunging down the rocks, It is hidden gem that has since been flooded by travelers and one that offers a fresh experience as you view part of River Nile, the longest River on earth, flowing on its 3months journey to the Mediterranean Sea.

Since 2019 when it became popular, it is recorded that it attracts hundreds of tourists more so on weekends, the rushing waters coupled with scenic views where travelers enjoy taking photos from giving a mystic view. This makes it more special for tourists.  On average weekend you will find dozens of mostly youths enjoying the scenery taking pictures with an occasional dip into the rushing waters.
