Voluntourism

Voluntourism

Uganda is among the countries in Africa welcoming Volunteers from all over the World.

As Green World Safari Company, we consider giving back to the local communities and that is why we encourage volunteers to come to Uganda and get a personal experience with the people in need.

It makes a great impact when you” travel with a purpose” Do your volunteer work as well as participate in Tourism. You will get a great exposure of the local communities as you help them make a positive change in their lives.

We work with several non -profit organisations like AZBGC in Kamengo, Action in Africa, Hidden Treasure Children Centre and Sejinja Children’s foundation.

OUR TARGET GROUPS:

Most of our volunteerism projects target Orphans, Widows or single mothers, Girl-Child Education, Refugees from Congo and South Sudan and the Old people who still need a chance to learn a little English to improve their communication skills in this new.com generation of technology.

You will find that most of our works consider women because in most developing countries like Uganda women play a great role in up bringing the children: It is their responsibility to grow food for the family, look for school fees and take care of the children when they fall sick.  Most men neglect these poor women and decide to socialise with friends in bars enjoying alcohol.

In which way can you volunteer?

  • Clinical or Medical voluntary work. We can build mobile clinics and treat the less privileged people who cannot afford to pay for hospital bills.

  • Teaching English. English language is still a challenge in Uganda; many children do not get a chance to go to school especially girls. They were and still looked at only as fit for marriage and when it comes to the majority of the aged people in the villages, they cannot write or read any single word in English. So they find it challenging in this fast growing World of Technology.

  • Building Schools. You can also volunteer in building better and permanent class rooms for the rural schools which are in bad shape. Tree shades are still used as class rooms in some parts of Uganda.

  • Sports and Recreation: You may wonder how you can volunteer in areas of sports.  Most of the poor youths in Uganda admire to be great sports people given an opportunity. Sports help them forget pain they have lived for all their entire lives. Some of them were abandoned by their own mothers at birth; others lost their parents due to AIDS, Accidents and Alcoholism. Therefore, through sports, these kids find love, care and encouragement for a brighter future.

You can build basketball courts, Table tennis, cricket and more. Like in Kamengo, the youths of Agnes Zabali Boys and Girls Club are good basket ballers and their Court was built by Volunteers of” Courts for Kids” from United States of America.
